Ktichen basics


 Learning to cook can be a bit of a challenge if you don't have some basic kitchen equipment to get you started.  You can't really boil water without a saucepan or slice veggies with a table knife.  Here is a list of kitchen basics for some simple recipes.  And if you run into a recipe that calls for something a little more complicated, chances are you can make do with the things on this list.  As you continue to cook more, you will discover additional things that will be more useful for your particular cooking style and you can add them to your cabinets then.

Basic kitchen equipment
  • Spatula
  • 1 qt. saucepan
  • 10 in. frying pan
  • Baking sheet
  •  8X8 pan
  • Oven mitt
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • paring knife
  • chef's knife
