Time to Get Cooking


Enough of the excuses!  Who says that med students don't have the time to cook?  Ok, so maybe we don't quite have the time to churn the butter and make the bread, but if we put our minds to it, we can certainly find a few minutes to throw together a simple healthy meal that tastes loads better than Wendy's or Jimmy John's and it is much more nutritious.  And as future doctors who need to advocate healthy life-styles for our patients, shouldn't we try to be healthy as well?

Taking inspiration from Julia Child, a great chef who took the complexity of French cooking and simplifying it for the home cook, we (the Wellness Team at OSU College of Medicine) are tailoring healthy cooking for the busy schedules of med students.  Check out this site to help discover your inner Julia--we will periodically post recipes and tips to make cooking easier, healthier, and fun for med students.  And we welcome any great recipes or ideas that you would like to share!  So grab your oven mitts, spatulas and an open mind and get cooking!
